Enrolling at Wagga Wagga High School

We can help you with your enrolment enquiries anytime throughout the year. An information pack can be posted on request.

Enrolment in Year 7 from Year 6

If your child is going into Year 7, you will first be asked to fill in an Expression of Interest for Placement in Year 7 at a NSW Government School form. This form is given to Year 6 students in government schools in at the beginning of March each year. You will also need to refer to our Year 7 Enrolment Procedures.

All other enrolments

Please contact the school on 02 6925 3611 to make an appointment to discuss and plan enrolments during the year. You will need to bring these documents with you:

  • your child’s birth certificate or identity documents
  • proof of student’s address – originals of different documents such as your council rates notice or residential lease and electricity bill
  • recent school reports
  • family law or other relevant court orders (if applicable).

Non-local enrolment applications

When it comes to considering non-local enrolment or out of zone applications , public schools must follow certain procedures to ensure that all eligible in-area students wishing to attend their local school are able to do so. Depending on resources, we may be able to accept students from outside our enrolment area at the discretion of our school enrolment panel. Applications for non-local enrolments are considered using a range of criteria, including the availability of appropriate staff and classroom accommodation. Contact us to find out more about our non-local enrolment selection criteria.

If your child is not a permanent resident, you will also need to provide:

  • passport or travel documents
  • current visa and previous visas (if applicable).

In addition, if your child has a temporary visa or visitor visa you will need to apply to enrol by contacting the Temporary Residents Program.

Please note

If your child has special circumstances, allergies, health or medical conditions, it’s important that you tell the principal about these before your child starts school.
